Former Twitter Employee Found Guilty of Spying for Saudi Arabia

According to court documents, both individuals leveraged their access to internal systems to unauthorizedly get hold of nonpublic information about users of specific accounts that were critical of the regime.

This information encompassing email addresses, phone numbers, IP addresses, and dates of birth, were then handed over to the officials in return for which Abouammo received $300,000 in cash and a Hublot Unico Big Bang King Gold Ceramic watch valued at $40,000.

COMPASS Pathways Sued for Alleged Theft of Psilocybin Trade Secrets

Terran Biosciences Inc. is suing COMPASS Pathways for the appropriation of trade secrets.

The trade secrets involve the treatment of depression and other mental health conditions with a combination of psilocybin and a 5-HT2A antagonist that has been patented by COMPASS, yet was allegedly stolen from Scott Thompson, a researcher at the University of Maryland, Baltimore.

FBI Removed Classified Documents from Mar-A-Lago, Is Investigating Possible Espionage Act Violations – Chico Enterprise-Record

FBI agents removed 11 sets of classified documents — including some marked top secret and meant to be available only in special government facilities — from former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida on Monday.

According to the search warrant, the alleged crimes under investigation are violations of the Espionage Act, which outlaws the unauthorized retention of national security information that could harm the United States or aid a foreign adversary; a federal law that makes it a crime to destroy or conceal a document in order to obstruct a government investigation; and another statute associated with unlawful removal of government materials.

GM Loses Appeal in Racketeering Lawsuit Against FCA

In August 2020, General Motors attempted to revive an old lawsuit against Fiat Chrysler Automobiles with new evidence and allegations of corporate espionage and bribery. About a month before that, a federal judge dismissed the racketeering lawsuit calling it a “waste of time and resources.” A US appeals court now upheld its 2020 ruling again, dismissing the lawsuit originally filed in November 2019.

Clay Co. Employee Arrested for Embezzlement

Maribel Longoria was arrested on a charge of misappropriation of fiduciary/financial property over $300K on Aug. 11. Longoria was the tax assessor-collector for Clay County.

An investigative report obtained by News Channel 6 states Longoria failed to accurately report and remit tax money that she held on behalf of the state, specifically when authorizing the sale of stocks, assets and other funds:

Former T.J. Martel Foundation VP Melissa Goodwin Faces Prison Time in Embezzlement Scheme

Melissa Goodwin was sentenced to four years in prison for embezzling more than $3.7 million from the T.J. Martel Foundation for Cancer Research, U.S. Attorney Mark H. Wildasin announced Thursday.

Goodwin worked as the executive vice president and general manager of the foundation. She was charged with wire fraud earlier this year and pleaded guilty to devising and operating a scheme to defraud the foundation.
